The iconic Navitimer collection offers the ultimate range of watches for pilots and aviation enthusiasts. Originally designed to measure flight times and fuel requirements in 1952, this collection has reliability at its core.
Built to meet the needs of the most demanding of explorers, the Navitimer balances tradition and innovation, resulting in a timepiece that pays homage to classic watch aesthetics but contains the latest timekeeping technology.
Powered by a self-winding, automatic movement that’s housed within a 46mm stainless steel case, the watch is renowned for its precision engineering and accuracy. Anti-glare sapphire crystal glass protects an elegant, black dial that features a dual time zone scale, silver baton interval markers, three chronograph markers, and a date window.
A sophisticated stainless steel bracelet complements the sleek lines of the casing, which also benefits from an engraved list of time zones on the rear.
Breitling is a Swiss watchmaker found in 1884 by Leon Breitling. Breitling are renowned for precision-made chronometers.
Historically, Breitling sourced movements from suppliers such as Valjoux, ETA, and Venus rather than producing movements in-house. In 2009 Breitling developed the B01, an in-house self-winding, column wheel chronograph movement, used in the Breitling Chronomat 01 and subsequently Navitimer 01.
Interesting Breitling Bond Fact:
In the 1965 James Bond movie Thunderball, Bond is given a Breitling Top Time by Q, who tells him it is also a geiger counter. The geiger counter in the watch enables Bond to track down two stolen nuclear warheads. After the movie was filmed the watch disappeared. In 2012 it resurfaced in a car boot sale in England where it was bought for GB£25. It later sold at auction at Christie’s auction house for over GB£100,000.
