Equipped with a Breitling SuperQuartz™ movement, ten times more accurate in its measurements than standard quartz, the Breitling Colt Chronograph Men’s Watch immediately makes itself known as the timepiece at the zenith of robustness, functionality and style: these qualities are derived from its military roots. The four rider tabs adorning the unidirectional bezel with its engraved hour-markers also ensure exceptionally optimally smooth handling. The case is water-resistant to 200m and features a polished finish, creating a striking contrast with the satin-brushed bezel and bracelet. Since 1884, Breitling have been a specialist in technical watches, and today are the official supplier to world aviation. Unusually for a large luxury watch manufacturer, all of Breitling’s watches are equipped with chronometer-certified movements. All mechanical chronograph parts are crafted in Breitling’s own workshops, and Breitling remains one of the last independent, family-run Swiss watchmakers.
About Breitling Watches*
Breitling is a Swiss watchmaker found in 1884 by Leon Breitling. Breitling are renowned for precision-made chronometers.
Historically, Breitling sourced movements from suppliers such as Valjoux, ETA, and Venus rather than producing movements in-house. In 2009 Breitling developed the B01, an in-house self-winding, column wheel chronograph movement, used in the Breitling Chronomat 01 and subsequently Navitimer 01.
Interesting Breitling Bond Fact:
In the 1965 James Bond movie Thunderball, Bond is given a Breitling Top Time by Q, who tells him it is also a geiger counter. The geiger counter in the watch enables Bond to track down two stolen nuclear warheads. After the movie was filmed the watch disappeared. In 2012 it resurfaced in a car boot sale in England where it was bought for GB£25. It later sold at auction at Christie’s auction house for over GB£100,000.
